The Goya-nominated short 'París 70' will become a feature film by Morena Films
The producer Morena Films is developing a film based on the short 'Paris 70', directed by Dani Feixas, written by Nach Solís, and nominated in the best short film category at the 2024 Goya Awards.
Paris 70 narrates a family love story between a son and his mother with Alzheimer's, presenting an emotional journey through their memories and experiences. It is, in the words of Morena Films, a “hard end-of-life story, but also emotionally captivating, inspiring and very human.”
The future feature film, produced by Pedro Uriol with the same creative team made up of Dani Feixas as director and Nach Solis As a screenwriter, he aims to maintain the essence of the short, but expanding the universe and the plots of the story with new characters and with a tone feelgood in the line of films like Untouchable, The bride's son o Goodbye Lenin. Uriol has stated about the adaptation that at Morena Films "we are very open to bringing to the screen these types of stories that touch on relevant and current topics and that can help provoke changes in society. For me, it is a pleasure to work with new talents like Dani and Nach, who bring enthusiasm, freshness and courage to deal with delicate topics with great originality and respect."
Paris 70 is presented as “the most awarded short film of the year”, receiving a total of 93 national and international awards. Likewise, it has been selected in 95 competitions both in Spain and in countries such as the United States, India, Cuba, Argentina, Italy and France. It has also captivated the social and health sector, both Alzheimer's and palliative care associations and foundations, generating a circuit of more than 70 screenings in hospitals and associations of relatives of Alzheimer's patients throughout the country.
Morena Films plans shoot the feature film at the end of 2024 and release it in the first half of 2025. The short film can be seen soon through Movistar Plus+.
