Mediapro studies the possibilities of AI for the creation of sports statistics and videos

Based on the experience of Mediapro In the sports field, the group is developing the GAEVIA Project that studies the possibilities of automatic generation of statistics and videos through Artificial Intelligence.

This is a project included in the European Next Generation recovery funds and its award was made through a public call from the Government.

The main objective of GAEVIA is to investigate solutions based on Artificial Intelligence that allow the automatic generation of statistics, video clips and summaries for the sports improvement of semi-professional and amateur teams. This contribution will positively impact sport at all levels, from coaches, analysts, athletes and fans, to organizations such as clubs, competitions and federations.

Based on Mediapro's experience in the sports field, a prospecting with analysts and coaches to select the most relevant statistics. Based on these needs, Artificial Intelligence algorithms are developed that allow this statistical and video content to be generated automatically from training and match recordings.

These algorithms are designed to analyze videos of 4K quality in real time or to process them later and are based on deep learning, machine learning, computer vision and cloud computing technologies.

GAEVIA began in March 2022 and will end during the month of October 2023 after twenty months of research.
