Audinate Raises the Potential of Dante AV with Industry Support and Launches Dante Connect at NAB 2023
Dante AV captures all eyes in the frame of NAB 2023 thanks to great alliances with top-level companies. Besides, Audinate has officially launched the long-awaited Dante Connect.
Dante Connect integrates a set of software applications that facilitate cloud-based broadcast production, combining ease of use and tight Dante audio synchronization with centralized production tools that are they execute in the cloud. The solution, designed for profiles such as mixing engineers, operators and broadcast technicians, transports audio to and from production software running on virtual machines (VMs) based on the cloud that can be accessed from anywhere with an Internet connection.
Other advantages of Dante Connect, beyond the ability for local Dante devices to connect to cloud services, are the 256 audio channels per virtual machine, the possibility of extending Dante Connect through various infrastructures and regions, and the possibility of executing a remote monitoring via a webRTC connection. Bryce Dunn, senior director of product management at Audinate, explains his vision for the new tool: "Dante Connect allows broadcasters to easily capture, mix and produce audio with efficient REMI workflows. It reduces the need for expensive mobile units and personnel, and allows talented mixing engineers to work from anywhere using centralized resources. This reduces expenses and allows many more events to be produced cost-effectively."
Dante Connect, as announced at NAB 2023, will be compatible with a wide variety of solutions, including agreements with Amazon Web Services, Waves, Audiotonix, Riedel o HHB Communications.
Dante AV continues to add support
In parallel, the IP solution Dante AV, one of Audinate's most important developments in recent times, increases its presence in the broadcast ecosystem. The list of equipment manufacturers that have acquired Dante AV licenses has been expanded at NAB 2023 with AJA y Marshall Electronics, names that are added to signatures like AdTechno, AVer, AVONIC, Bolin, BZB Gear, Chingan Technology, Cypress, Lumens, Minrray, Patton, PTZ Optics, ProAVIT, Soundhouse, Televic, Telycam, Tenveo, ValueHD, Yamaha o Yuan.
AJA, a manufacturer of video interface technologies, converters and digital video recording solutions for the professional, broadcast and post-production markets, has introduced two transmitter/receiver converters for the transport of professional-quality, low-latency Dante video and audio. He Dante AV 4K-T converts 4K, UHD, 2K, HD and VESA SDI and HDMI signals to Dante AV Ultra, while Dante AV 4K-R supports conversion of Dante AV Ultra signals to 4K, UHD, 2K, HD, VESA SDI and HDMI. Marshall Electronics, provider of AV equipment for broadcast, pro AV, video streaming and multimedia worldwide, will integrate Dante AV-H by Audinate in its line of AV cameras over IP (H.265/H.264) with resolution up to UHD 60fps.
Dante AV is a family of hardware and software solutions which allows manufacturers and end users to add network video to the Dante platform. Ensures interoperability between manufacturers while maintaining discovery, configuration and control on a single platform for all audio and video devices. The family includes Dante AV Ultra, a hardware-based solution that offers 4K60 video encoding and decoding for high-quality, lossless video, and Dante AV-H, an integrated software solution that OEMs can add to their H.264/H.265 cameras, encoders and decoders with Ethernet, turning them into Dante AV endpoints. Dante AV solutions are compatible with the thousands of Dante-enabled products available today.
New API for Dante Domain Manager
Finally, Audinate has announced within the framework of NAB 2023 the immediate availability of a new API with the Dante Domain Manager version 1.5. This API enables service providers, integrators, software developers, and OEMs to incorporate Dante control and monitoring into management applications, control hardware, automation scripts, helpdesk solutions, and software-based source mixing, to name just a few.
The new API is built using the popular query language GraphQL for rapid development with common tools like Postman, Apollo Studio o Altair. It inherits protections and permissions from the Dante Domain Manager configuration, ensuring secure deployment. Likewise, the API enables the configuration of securely managed Dante AV-over-IP systems through third-party applications and products, enabling new capabilities and integrations for a wide variety of installations.
