Barcelona hosts the filming of 'El 47', the latest film from The Mediapro Studio
Marcel Barrena directs 'El 47', a film starring Eduard Fernández and produced by The Mediapro Studio whose filming has begun in different locations in Barcelona.
The Mediapro Studio, supported by the participation of Television of Catalonia y RTVE, and the support of ICEC, is the driving producer of The 47, Barrena's new feature film after the Goya nominees Mediterranean, 100 metros y small world. Jaume Roures serves as producer, and Laura Fdez. Espeso and Javier Méndez as executive producers, of this project that will transport viewers to the outskirts of Barcelona.
This is the synopsis of the project: "In the 60s and 70s, the periphery of Barcelona has been formed and built for the most part by Extremaduran and Andalusian immigrants who have built the neighborhoods with their own hands, but they are not considered part of the city. Their shanties do not even have running water or electricity. Fed up with the City Council saying that public transport cannot reach the area because the streets are too narrow and unsafe, TMB bus driver Manolo Vital will try demonstrate, behind the wheel of The 47, that the authorities are wrong.”
Eduard Fernandez occupies the leading role in this production, supported by figures of the stature of Clara Segura, Zoe Bonafonte, Carlos Cuevas, Salva Reina, Aimar Vega, Vicente Romero and David Verdaguer. He filming of The 47 has already started in different locations of the province of Barcelona, including the Torre Baró neighborhood, which has completely dedicated itself to production. The Mediapro Studio confirms that hundreds of its neighbors are participating as extras after a casting process in which more than a thousand of them applied.
