CRTVG collaborates with MEDRETIA in the development of Artificial Intelligence applied to audiovisuals

The Galician public CRTVG collaborates with the MEDRETIA project to develop a system that predicts the behavior of audiovisual products based on Big Data and Artificial Intelligence technologies.

The project, within the framework of MEDRETIA and through the Galician Technological Institute (ITG), aims to develop artificial intelligence (AI) that will allow us to predict the on-screen behavior of audiovisual products. Through the application of technologies Big Data e Artificial Intelligence, audiovisual content creation companies will have more tools to evaluate and anticipate market needs optimizing your production processes.

José Pereira Fariña, director of the Innovation and Business Area of the CRTVG, considers that Galician companies that produce audiovisual content such as the CRTVG will be able to "make a more precise diagnosis of the possibilities of an audiovisual product being well received by the audience, which means greater efficiency in the public service. The implementation of the tool developed by ITG will mean for CRTVG "an important qualitative and quantitative leap, both in the programming purchasing processes, with the aim of getting the right tastes of the viewer, which is always beneficial for both, the audiovisual sector and the public service.”

The ITG will design this AI through identification, analysis and complex processing of multiple data multisectoral with the objective of training machine learning algorithms to obtain successful predictions. Thus, it will create a digital tool that will include intelligent data analysis and management (Data Fabric) with information obtained from social networks, among other sources, such as the reactions detected to certain content. This system will allow production companies to have a more efficient analysis of the predictable path of products even before undertaking the investment in their production.

The collaborative project MEDRETIA, led by the Galicia Audiovisual Cluster, is financed by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and involves the ITG, Duacode, the Association for the Digitalization of the Industry of Galicia, Galicia Dixital, the CRTVG and Selmark.
