The Genelec 8341A monitors arrive at the studio of renowned producer Dani Ferrer
The musician, producer and composer Dani Ferrer has decided to update his studio to face his next challenges with monitors Genelec 8341A.
Ferrer He has an extensive career that has led him to work, tour and produce content for bands such as Mi Capitan, Love Of Lesbian, Zahara and Standstill, as well as creating music for television series and advertising jingles for projects such as The Marathon of TV3 or the Super 3 channel.
Recently, he decided to update the studio monitors, finally opting for the performance of the Genelec 8341A. In his own words: "A friend recommended and let me try his 8331A for a mix I had to do and I quickly realized that I was doing the job with more control and confidence. When I returned them to him I was very clear that I couldn't go back, and I decided on the 8341A. Being able to combine good monitors with a custom-made correction breaks a very big barrier for a current project studio where there is not a large investment in acoustics." For Ferrer, the monitor system has a “great importance"about the success of a production", so working with the 8341A has allowed him improve all your processes: Deciding as quickly as possible what sound you choose for the song because you have a more real listen is making me enjoy my work more. (…) I have no doubt that it is a good investment that is giving me more security and comfort.”
Dani Ferrer has also been able to take advantage of the possibilities offered by the correction software GLM, also from Genelec: "I use it because I always have the calibration activated. It is very convenient since it is acting without you realizing it and without you having to worry about opening the program or inserting a plugin into the master of your DAW. I have yet to do an even more tailored corrective equalization, but I haven't had enough time yet."
The 8341A of Genelac is a SAM tri-amplified 3-way coaxial monitor 6″ that offers a high “exceptional dynamic ceiling”. This point source monitor incorporates exclusive Genelec innovations such as Smart Active Monitor (SAM), Minimum Diffraction Coaxial (MDC) driver technology, Acoustically Concealed Woofers (ACW) for controlled directivity of the lowest frequencies, Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW) for flat off-axis response, and Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) for energy savings, all housed in a Minimum Diffraction enclosure. Enclosure (MDE). It also has optimized independent amplifiers.
