Juan Mayne assumes regional content direction for Iberia at SkyShowtime
SkyShowtime has hired former Netflix executive Juan Mayne as Regional Content Director for Iberia, leading content acquisitions and original programming, with overall responsibility for productions in the Iberia region.
Reporting to Kai Finke, recently named Chief Content Officer of SkyShowtime, Mayne joins the established programming team alongside Edyta Pytlewska-Mele, Regional Content Director for Central and Eastern Europe, and Fredrik Ljungberg, Regional Content Director for Northern Europe, covering the Netherlands and Nordic markets as part of his new expanded roles.
With over twenty years of experience in the international entertainment industry, Mayne has a track record of directing commercially successful projects that have resonated with audiences around the world. Previously he worked for Netflix as Director of Content, Co-Pros and Acquisitions in Spain, Portugal and Latin America, and as Head of Film in our country.
During his time at Netflix, he collaborated closely with Atresmedia to bring successful series such as The Money Heist to the platform, and led the development of original films in Spanish, including the smash hit through my window, which is currently the second most-watched Spanish-language film on Netflix of all time, and the third most-watched non-English language film overall.
Kai Finke admits he is excited "to welcome Juan to the SkyShowtime programming team. He has an impressive track record as a successful content leader, so he will be a great addition to our team. He will be key in offering his experience and supporting SkyShowtime's next phase of growth and development of original programming."
