DHD SX2 - Radio Duchess

The technological team of Radio Duchessa use the sound table DHD SX2 to produce its new online radio channel with free access both online and on air.

Radio Duchessa takes its name from the duchess Maria Luigia de Parma, whose population gave her the nickname “good duchess.” Seat of the Duchy of Parma and Piacenza, the city has long been characterized by its role in architecture, gastronomy, music, painting and sculpture.

Recently, the station decided to trust the integrator BVMedia to prepare for his new stage, which will be marked by a new online radio channel which will also broadcast throughout the region of Emilia Romagna through DAB+. After studying the market, Marco Bussolati, founder of Radio Duchessa, always advised by Roberto Belloti, CEO of BVmedia, decided to upgrade his production studio with the SX2 table: "DHD products are inherently modular and highly configurable, giving customers the freedom to expand the system as their business model develops. They are also very easy to operate, which is a great advantage for live broadcasters, especially when working with guests in the studio or connected by IP," explains Belloti.

The DHD SX2 console is based on a four-fader central module. Integrated displays allow operators to see exactly how their console is performing, both from a connectivity and signal level standpoint. The central module gives access to audio inputs and outputs most important. A microphone input and headphone output are included, and speakers can be connected directly to this unit.

SX2 consoles expand beyond four channels by adding one or more modules with six motorized faders each. This allows you to integrate up to 20 channels. The central and fader modules each incorporate a 10.1 inch multi-touch screen which displays the relevant configuration and operating parameters. The functions of SX2 can be expanded by simply adding optional license codes to DSP core, which allows having faders, buses y clean-feeds additional. It also supports features such as loudness metering and talkback with other DHD mixers.

The 10 channel table over Dante AoIP installed at Radio Buchessa is already offering important operational benefits, such as guaranteeing continuity of the signal when changing to other locations; interact with third party hardware and software, including the radio automation system of the Radio Duchessa headquarters in Parma; exchange the program feed from study to a recovery system, or change the sources and destinations based on automatic triggers.
