Atresmedia Cine leads the box office in 2023 with a 24% market share and more than 19M euros

Films like 'Summer Vacation', 'Mummies' or 'As God Commands' allow Atresmedia Cinema to once again lead the Spanish cinema box office “for the fifth consecutive year”, collecting more than 19 million euros in 2023 and adding 24% of the market share.

Atresmedia Cinema has participated in a total of nine new productions in 2023, three of which are in the top 10 most watched releases of the year and with the highest grossing, according to data published by Comscore.

With more than 7 million euros raised y 1.2 million viewers, summer vacation, directed and starring Santiago Segura, ranks as the most successful film in the ranking of premieres of Atresmedia Cinema. Mummies continues this path of success being the most relevant Spanish animated film at the box office in 2023: it has managed to raise 5.7 million euros, with nearly a million viewers. Also in the top of the most viewed Spanish productions is As God Commands, a feature film directed by Paz Jiménez that has surpassed the two million euros raised.

Atresmedia's commitment to cinema does not end here. Shadow Valley, a thriller directed by Salvador Calvo and starring Miguel Herrán, and Anyone has a bad day, directed by Eva Hache, are already on the billboard. These productions will soon be joined by feature films such as politically incorrect, The Beneton family o Disco, Ibiza, Locomía, among many others.

The Comscore data opens the windows to slight optimism for the future. According to publications, attendance at movie theaters grows for the third consecutive year: has increased by 26% compared to the previous period, reaching 74.9 million spectators, while the box office reached 487.5 million euros (as of December 29).
