Atresmedia leads and RTVE comes back: this is the audiences for the 2022-2023 season

GECA takes stock of the 2022/2023 television season (from September 5, 2022 to June 30, 2023), highlighting the main trends that this year has revealed.

Antenna 3 has maintained hegemony in the 2022/2023 season with an audience of 13,9% (-0.1), prevailing over Telecinco, que marca mínimo histórico con un 11,3% (-1,9). In parallel to this linear offer, the grouping of paid themes occupies a fantastic position in the annual balance with a percentage of 10.4%, which represents a growth of 1.2 and a historical record.

Audiences by thematic blocks

GECA's analysis by subject area also leaves clear winners. In regards to sports broadcasts, La 1 is the absolute winner with 9 of its 10 proposals in the top. Entertainment has been led by Eurovision, which obtained a notable 33% share on La 1. Antena 3 formats monopolize the rest of the ranking, only interrupted by La 1's Feliz 2023 in fourth position, and the broadcasts of Survivientes closing the ranking.

One more year, Antena 3 Noticias leads the ranking of information programs with almost two and a half million viewers and the top five positions in the ranking. Public television does not appear until seventh position, reserved for Weekend News 2. Finally, Türkiye takes the top of the annual fiction with the emissions of Unfaithful on Antena 3 leading the ranking. Faced with the success of on-demand platforms, it is surprising to see Movie of the Week from La 1 closing the classification podium.
