Manifesto takes its first steps to guarantee technological training in broadcast
Deluxe y Vizrt They are the founding members of Manifesto (Global Media & Entertainment Talent Manifesto), an initiative to address skills shortages in media technology.
Manifesto is presented as a new organization which aims to create a international infrastructure agreed with guiding principles, actions and initiatives that CEOs, companies and individuals can adhere to. In the words of Carrie Wootten, co-founder of the initiative: "It is absolutely vital to share good practice and launch new impactful initiatives to drive the influx of talent into the industry. We also need to educate and inspire young people about the variety of roles they perform in our sector, and we will work with educational institutions around the world."
In addition to Vizrt y Deluxe As founding members, Manifesto will have an active support network of organizations including A + E Networks, AMD, BBC, Dell, DTG, Harmonic, Imagine Communications, ITV, Media City Odense, Microsoft, Redholt, Signiant, SMPTE UK, SWR, Tek Systems y Warner Bros. Discovery. “Together, these founding members and support network create an impressive force of knowledge, concern and drive to find solutions to this industry problem,” adds Wootten.
Throughout 2024, Manifesto will focus on five key projects that will make the broadcast sector known internationally as a viable and creative career for students. The year will culminate with the creation of a physical manifest which members will sign and undertake to carry out. Knowledge sharing and collaboration around Manifesto will take place during IBC 2024 in a “World Cafe”.
