MOSAIC - Platform - 3Cat Meeting

3Cat has hosted a key plenary meeting of the European project for two days MOSAIC, a meeting that served to carry out the first live demonstration of the experimental platform and prepare pilot tests.

in the project MOSAIC, which aims to overcome linguistic barriers in access to audiovisual content through artificial intelligence, ten European partners participate; among them, five reference broadcasters: 3Cat, the German German wave (DW TV), la eslovena RTV SLU, the Belgian VRT and the Italian Sky Italia. Also part of the consortium are Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and several technology companies such as Pangeanic, CARSA, the Greek Infallia and the Italian Fincons, who coordinates the project. Together, they promote the development of new technologies to facilitate the automatic translation, subtitling, dubbing, advanced search and personalization of audiovisual content, thus helping to preserve and promote cultural diversity in the European audiovisual field.

The plenary meeting hosted by 3Cat has allowed us to kick off some pilot tests that will be launched in the second half of this year and that they will have the participation of end users who will validate the functionalities and effectiveness of the platform in real contexts. The results will be presented to mid 2026, after an intense period of testing and adjustments.

The implication of 3Cat in MOSAIC, in the words of radio and television itself, reaffirms its “commitment” to the technological innovation and with the production and distribution of content in Catalan in the digital era. This participation also demonstrates 3Cat's desire to “lead the digital transformation” of the Catalan audiovisual industry, taking advantage of the most advanced tools to guarantee maximum accessibility and quality of content.
