Cobalt - 9905-MPx - IP - NAB 2024

With the goal of “providing tools today for the broadcaster of tomorrow,” Cobalt has turned his gaze on NAB 2024 to the IP world with new ST 2110 interfaces and Dante on several of his cards.

The new Cobalt Indigo Og-2110-Bidi4-Gateway is a native four-channel bidirectional ST 2110 interface for SDI I/O available in the openGear form factor. Gateway includes support for ST 2022-7 seamless redundant switching, as well as IS 04/05 NMOS for automatic detection and configuration. The commitment to SMPTE 2110 does not stop there: the company has announced at NAB 2024 the possibility of adapting the processing cards openGear 9905-MPx o 9904-UDX-4K Cobalt to SMPTE IP Standard Suite with Card Option Indigo 2110-DC-01. This solution supports up to 4 inputs at 3G resolutions and below, or one input at 4K resolution, with full NMOS compatibility. Each encoder channel can be individually configured for SDI or ST 2110 operation.

On the other hand, the company has emphasized the combination of Pacific 9992-ENC with input interface option ST 2110, which creates a very powerful integrated solution that can be deployed directly into an ST 2110 installation for local encoding, low-latency transport over the Internet using RIST, or to drive a traditional ASI workflow, without the need to deploy separate gateway devices.

In the area of Dante, Cobalt has presented the new cards Cobalt Aria Aud2-Dante y Cobalt Aria Aud4-Dante– in openGear form factor offering dual and quad channel drives with up to 12G Dante/AES/MADI/Embed and De-Embed capabilities with Frame Sync capabilities. The cards feature two gigabit Ethernet ports, a 32x32 or 64x64 configuration, and a full audio router mixer.

Cobalt's attendance at NAB 2024 is completed with a showcase of solutions, among which the new family of routers for applications up to 12G-SDI stands out. Cobalt Wave; the new control panels for routers Wave Cobalt Wave Cp-44 y Cobalt Wave Cp-42l, or the possibility of converting ATSC 1.0 into an ATSC 3.0 ready signal through a new function for the openGear processor 9905-MPx.
