The FilmLight Color Awards return in 2024 with new features such as the award for best emerging talent

From May 1 to July 31, the world of grading will be able to present its film and television projects to the FilmLight Colour Awards 2024, which present new features in what is its fourth edition.

Los FilmLight Colour Awards, which will be delivered once again in EnergaCAMERIMAGE in November, they are independently judged by a selection of creatives, cinematographers and colorists. The objective continues to be to value the figure of the etalonador, whose work remains unrecognized in the industry's major film awards.

New for 2024, the “Emerging Talent” award will recognize and celebrate the work of young colorists (18 to 35 years old) who have worked on a commercial or music video project broadcast between September 1, 2023 and September 30, 2024. In the words of Jacqui Loran, co-director of FilmLight: “The next generation of colorists is critical to the future of our industry. We have introduced this award to help support and encourage these young emerging talents – shining a light on their work and helping them carve a path in the industry.” The new category is added to the five existing ones: feature film, television series/episode, advertisement, music video y Spotlight, which recognizes colorists who have contributed to the creative impact of a low-budget feature film.

FilmLight also welcomes four new collaborating partners of these awards co-organized between the technology company and EnergaCAMERIMAGE: ShotDeck (searchable film image library), AMC (Mexican Society of Cinematographers), BVK (German Society of Cinematographers) and ISC (Indian Society of Cinematographers). They thus join the growing list of long-standing collaborators, among which are: AFC (French Society of Cinematographers), ASC (American Society of Cinematographers), BSC (British Society of Cinematographers), CNSC (Chinese Society of Cinematographers) and CSI (Colorist Society International), among others.
