The nominees for the FilmLight Color Awards 2022 revealed, awards for the best color grading
FilmLight has announced the nominees for the FilmLight Colour Awards 2022, awards open to artists using any color correction platform.
In its second year, the awards have attracted more than 300 participants from 36 countries around the world. From among them, a jury made up of “renowned cinematographers and colorists” from around the world” has selected a list of 25 finalist projects distributed in five categories. Stephen Lighthill, president of the ASC, says he feels “impressed” for the applications received this year: "All the entries have shown enormous effort and talent. As a cinematographer, I have enjoyed the judging process. When viewing the entries, I have observed the colorists' use of layers to enhance the story being told. I look forward to celebrating the winners among our colleagues during the Camerimage ceremony."
In the film category, los five nominees son Being the Ricardos, graded by Ian Vertovec in Light Iron; Dune, by David Cole in FotoKem; No Time to Die, by Matt Wallach in Company 3; Three Thousand Years of Longing, by Eric Whipp in alter ego; and West Side Story, por Michael Hatzer en Picture Shop.

This time, the nominees are Apple, “Data Auction”, graded by Ondřej Štibingr at Universal Production Partners (UPP); Porsche, Jürgen Aigner, “One of Us”, graded by Toby Tomkins in CHEAT; ROM, 'IMMORTAL', graded by Wade Odlum as an alter ego; Schweppes, 'Let's Schweppes', graded by Manuel Portschy; and Stonewall, ‘Proud Mistletoe’, graded by Peter Oppersdorff at The Mill.

Finally, the Spotlight Award, new in 2022, and whose goal is to recognize unrecognized talent in the industry, may go to Singing on the rooftops, graded by Seth Ricart in RCO; Dear Mr. Führer, graded by Aljoscha Hoffmann in CinePostproduction; Golden Boy, etalonada por Nikola Stefanović en The Mill Shanghai; Shoebox, benchmarked by Mahak Gupta at Bridge PostWorks; y We Might As Well Be Dead, etalonada por Marina Starke.
The awards program, started by FilmLight, is organized in collaboration with EnergaCAMERIMAGE with the support of prominent international groups such as the ASC, Imago (the International Federation of Cinematographers) or CSI (International Society of Colorists) among others. Winners will be announced on November 13, 2022 on EnergaCAMERIMAGE.
