Shooting in Spain, at the mark of ICEX- Invest in Spain To promote the attraction to Spain of filming and foreign investments in the audiovisual sector, it will actively participate in Marché du Film 2024, the industry section of the Cannes Festival, which celebrates its 65th edition from May 14 to 22 at the Palais des Festivals, with a program of activities and its own space within the Cinema from Spain pavilion.

Within the framework of the event, considered the most important film market in the world, Shooting in Spain stars in one of the panels that make up the official conference program: under the title How to craft a world hit in Spain, will show the main reasons and key services that make Spain one of the most requested filming destinations worldwide. Specifically, it will analyze the success stories of cinematic blockbusters such as In the Grey (directed by famous British filmmaker Guy Ritchie) or The Assessment (by the French director and screenwriter Fleur Fortuné), which had the support of Spanish service companies.

The table, moderated by the executive director of ICEX-I nvest in Spain Elisa Garcia Grande, will feature the participation of the co-producers Stephen Wooley, from Number 9 Films (UK), and Jonas Katzenstein, from augenschein Filmproduktion (Germany), explaining why they decided to take the filming of The Assessment, a science fiction thriller starring Alicia Vikander and Elizabeth Olsen. will accompany you Alejandro Álamo, producer of Volcano Films, responsible for assisting them during their stay in the Canary Islands. For its part, Peter Welter will explain the factors involved in a production company choosing to shoot in Spain again, as in the case of Fresco Film's second collaboration with Guy Ritchie for his latest feature film “In the Grey”, which also obtained the sustainable production seal issued by the Tenerife Film Commission.

After the conference, which will take place on Friday the 17th from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in The Viewpoint room (Riviera building), Shooting in Spain organizes a networking cocktailg on the terrace of the Cinema from Spain pavilion (stand A3-A5 in the Riviera building), where all panel attendees are invited to participate and where they will be able to access the panelists, as well as other Spanish companies present at the event, which aims to promote professional relations between participating companies.

Furthermore, with the aim of promoting its presence among the more than 14,000 registered professionals, Shooting in Spain will also have its own space within the pabellón Cinema from Spain, where its team will inform about the services and advantages that Spain offers as a destination for audiovisual production, as well as about the Spain Audiovisual Bureau, the centralized information point that offers assistance to any company, national or foreign, interested in developing audiovisual initiatives in Spain.
