RTVE, B23 Films and CaixaForum+ produce the documentary 'Women on Mars'
The documentary film 'Women on Mars', promoted by RTVE, B23 Movies y CaixaForum+ In collaboration with the CSIC, it will tell the story of Hypatia I, protagonists of a simulation of Martian life.
The next June 19 will premiere in RTVE Play y CaixaForum+ Women on Mars, a documentary that can also be seen on June 20 at 1:00 a.m. on La 2 and on June 22 at 8:25 p.m. on La 2 Cataluña. This production, directed by the producer and disseminator Ana Montserrat Rosell, will tell all the details of the crew of Hypatia I, a female team that carries out a simulation of Martian life in an analog base in the Utah desert, United States. The expedition is defined by RTVE as “the perfect excuse” to address big issues such as universe exploration and the role of women in the space race.
Women On Mars, which documents this adventure female scientist and covers the brief history of women in space, is presented with a “clear inspirational vocation” and will seek to contribute to the “creation of current references” to inspire girls and young women to pursue scientific careers and explore the universe. Currently, only a 30% of global scientific research is carried out by women, a figure that is reduced to 20% in the space sector. Furthermore, of the almost 600 astronauts there have been throughout the space race, just over 80 are women.
