IBC will select twelve projects for its Innovation Accelerator Program
IBC calls for a new edition of its Media Innovation Accelerator Program 2025, inviting submissions for transformative, fast-track innovation projects that will help shape the future of the media and entertainment technology sector. The submission period ends on Friday, December 6, 2024.
IBC will select 12 project proposals that will be presented during the popular IBC Kickstart Day on Wednesday February 12, 2025 after reviewing all applications. For the first time, the Kickstart event will be held at the BBC's iconic Radio Theater and Media Café in central London. Although the event is open to all, the number of participants is strictly limited due to venue capacity.
The IBC Accelerator Program has been consolidated as catalyst for collaborative innovation in the media and entertainment ecosystem, where technology buyers propose project challenges and then form project teams with specific expertise to explore and develop solutions in a matter of months. Ultimately, the solutions are presented and discussed as proofs of concept at the IBC show in September 2025.
For 2025, IBC seeks challenges that address pressing problems in content creation, production and distribution live, audience engagement and technology integration, intelligent automation, sustainability, innovative advertising technology, connectivity and many other areas of emerging media R&D. Selected projects will have the opportunity to collaborate with global champions of media brands, the industry experts leading transformative innovation.
Registration is open to everyone in the media technology ecosystem, with projects covering a wide range of relevant industry challenges in thematic areas such as AI, Connectivity, Sustainability, IP Evolution, News and Disinformation, Ad Tech, Cybersecurity and Content Protection, Immersive XR Tech among many other areas of media technology evolution.
“The IBC Accelerator Program has become an integral part of the industry, analyzing some of the key themes and areas that are driving the future of what we do,” he highlights. Morwen Williams, Director of Media Operations at the BBC.
Since its founding in 2019, more than 300 entities have participated in this program.
