Mediasur combines AI and human supervision in its Deferred Subtitling Platform

The subsidiary of Mediapro Group, Mediasur, achieves an improvement in productivity indicators of up to 60% with its Delayed Subtitling Platform for audiovisual content that combines Artificial Intelligence (AI) and human supervision.

This initiative arose in response to the growing demand for subtitling services in the audiovisual market, and has been developed by the Artificial Intelligence Center from the Innovation area of ​​Grup Mediapro. The platform is available to Mediasur's 60 professionals dedicated to providing subtitling services.

The Delayed Subtitling Platform is built under the Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure, and combines state-of-the-art transcription models with synchronization and linguistic segmentation capabilities, complying with the best practices and editorial criteria established in the UNE 153010:2012 standard (specific standard of requirements and recommendations on the presentation of subtitling for deaf people and people with hearing disabilities). This advance positions Mediasur as a benchmark in the creation of high-quality automatic subtitles based on Spanish regulations.

The platform currently allows autogenerate subtitles in Spanish, Catalan, English and French, although the infrastructure allows a agile scaling to multiple languages and co-official languages ​​such as Galician and Basque, which makes it a reference platform at both a national and European level.

The implementation of the platform has allowed Mediasur to achieve three key objectives: improve efficiency in delayed subtitling processes, process different types of content audiovisual and Optimize collaboration between professionals on a centralized platform.

In fact, the new hybrid work model, which combines Artificial Intelligence and human supervision of editors, has shown significant improvements in productivity KPIs, with increases of between 30% and 60% depending on the project. All of this, enhancing the capabilities of current Mediasur professionals, who can contribute their knowledge to more productive tasks.
