Six filmmakers star in the 3rd edition of Rueda Academia de Cine
Film Academy Wheel, audiovisual development program organized by the Film Academy and in collaboration with the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA), has started its third edition in Madrid with six filmmakers ready to soak up knowledge and thus develop their projects.
Marina Rúbies (He diagnoses me); Natalia Solorzano (Spells to revive a witch); Dembo Diaby (The Family); Mac Machín (The porters); Khris Cembe (Mancera) y Andrés Ramírez Pulido (A white-tailed doe drinks from the stream) form the sextet of this third edition. The program, which is committed to decentralization and will promote four fiction feature films, one documentary and one animation, will support these six screenwriters who carry out their professional activity outside of centers of greater audiovisual density in Spanish territory. In this edition, Rueda also opens up to Latin America, with a creator from Costa Rica and another from Colombia.
The vice president of the Academy, Rafael Portela, welcomed them at the opening of this initiative in Madrid, where the creators will enjoy mentoring, workshops and contact with industry professionals. Over the next seven months, they will work on their projects telematically, with small intensive interludes in three face-to-face meetings that will take place in three Spanish cities.
Among the guests of this first meeting, which is organized in collaboration with the Film Academy Residency Program, is the team of the series The new years: from its scriptwriters Rodrigo Sorogoyen, Paula Fabra, Antonio Rojano y Sara Cano, to the protagonists Iria del Río y Francesco Carril, passing through the directors Sandra Romero y David Martin de los Santos. Other Rueda activities will include a walk through the Madrid of Eloy of the Church y José Luis Manzano, a session with the MediaDistancia collective or the programming of the National Dramatic Center.
