Juan Carlos Tous - Filmin - Interview

The Government of Catalonia grants to of the movie, video-on-demand platform, the prestigious Creu de Sant Jordi for “its important support for the promotion and dissemination of Catalan audiovisuals, language and culture.”

For more than 40 years, The Generalitat has distinguished almost 2000 people or entities who, due to their merits, have provided outstanding services in Catalonia, in all areas of society. Juan Carlos Tous, co-founder and CEO of Filmin, celebrates this recognition by highlighting the company's efforts to integrate alternatives in Catalan to its catalogue: "Since the beginning of Filmin, we have opted for dubbing and subtitles in Catalan with the idea of ​​satisfying those viewers who prefer to enjoy movies and series in their native language. This recognition reinforces our commitment to bringing the best cinema to the greatest number of viewers possible."

In recent years there have been several entities and people linked to the world of cinema that have received the Creu de Sant Jordi: filmmakers like Agustí Villaronga, Ventura Pons or Isabel Coixet; interpreters such as Joan Pera, Carme Elías or Julieta Serrano, the entities such as the Sindicat Associació d'Actors i Directors Professionals de Catalunya or the Sitges Festival. This year they have also been recognized Eduard Fernández and Clara Segura, protagonists of The 47, one of the greatest successes in the history of Catalan cinemaAitana Bonmati or journalist Angels Barceló.
