Ooona partners with Audio Description Associates to promote training and certifications in audio description

Ooona – Audio Description Associates UI training

The Edu platform of Oona will begin to offer specialized training in audio description thanks to the new alliance between the company and Audio Description Associates.

Audio Description Associates It was founded in 1995 by Dr. Joel Snyder, one of the first audio describers in the world. Snyder, who began his pioneering work in audio description in 1981, has lent his voice and description writing skills a miles of live performances, broadcast shows, IMAX films, museum exhibitions, educational videos and live events such as presidential inaugurations, guided tours and cruises. Over the years, he has also trained countless describers and directed workshops or produced descriptions for audiences of more than 65 countries.

Thanks to the new alliance between Oona y Audio Description Associates, the Edu platform will host the renowned training sessions of Joel Snyder, making them available to media localization professionals around the world. An additional milestone of the collaboration will ultimately be the creation of the first multilingual certification and based on the evaluation in audio description developed through AVTpro.

Andrew Garb, global account manager of Oona, explains the reasons that have led the company to join forces with Audio Description Associates: "Our mission with the renewed EDU platform is to offer complete courses on all the essential media localization skills and tasks that professionals in the market typically perform. To achieve this, we partner with leading professionals and companies in the media localization sector. We are delighted that Dr. Snyder joins our list of tutors on the EDU platform and helps us develop an audio description course tailored to our users."
