The Platino Awards return to Madrid on April 27

The IFEMA Madrid Municipal Palace will host the 12th edition of the Platinum Awards: twenty-three awards and one Honorary Platinum that will highlight the most outstanding productions and professionals in Ibero-American audiovisual.

Los XII Platinum Awards continue their trail of successes in Madrid, where they stopped for the first time in their fourth edition, in 2017, and chained three galas in 2021, 2022 y 2023. In 2024, they resumed their itinerant vocation, returning to Riviera Maya, also the venue for the awards in 2018 and 2019, and the future location for the awards in 2026, thanks to a historic agreement started in 2024 that will alternate the Community of Madrid and the state of Quintana Roo as venues until 2027, the year in which the Platinums will return to the Spanish capital.

The Platinum Awards are promoted by EGEDA (Entity for the Management of Rights of Audiovisual Producers) and by FIPCA (Ibero-American Federation of Cinematographic and Audiovisual Producers. Since their birth, the Platino have adapted to the evolution of a dynamic industry and changing, adding recognitions for series or comedy, and have given statuettes to productions, filmmakers and performers from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Guatemala, Spain, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Uruguay or Venezuela.

Held on April 20, 2024 at the Gran Tlachco Theater in Xcaret, Riviera Maya (Mexico), the last Platinum Awards gala was concluded, in the categories for feature film, with six awards for The snow society (Best Ibero-American Fiction Film, Best Editing Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Sound Direction and Best Male Performance for Enzo Vogrincic). In serial categories, Barrabrava won the coveted trophy Best Fiction Miniseries or Teleseries.
