Hispasat remains in the top 10 of the WTA teleport ranking
The World Teleport Association (WTA) has made public the classification of the main operators for 2024, in which the ninth place of the Spanish operator Hispasat stands out.
Las classifications WTA annual company estimates by revenue and revenue growth are compiled by surveying teleport operators around the world and taking as reference the published results of listed companies. Randal Barney, deputy executive director of the association, says that this year's research has brought good news: "After a few difficult years during the pandemic, the teleport sector has returned to growth. The companies that grow the fastest are those with diverse businesses that adapt more nimbly to the increase in new competition from LEO connectivity providers."
Hispasat manages to place itself in ninth place in a World top 10 led by SES (Luxembourg), Intelsat (US) and Hughes (US). Completing the ranking are Eutelsat Group (France), Speedcast (USA), Telesat (Canada), Arqiva (United Kingdom), Telespazio (Italy) and Singtel (Singapore). The Spanish company is also consolidating in the fifth position of the ranking Fast 10, which ranks teleoperating companies based on year-over-year revenue growth in their most recent fiscal years. Telstra (Australia) occupies first place in the ranking, followed by Media Broadcast Satellite (Germany), Planetcast Media Services Ltd. (India), Vivacom (Bulgaria), Hispasat itself (Spain), Es'hailSat (Qatar), Eutelsat Group (France), MEASAT Satellite Systems (Malaysia), SES (Luxembourg) and Arqiva (United Kingdom).
Additionally, the WTA has shared the classification of The Independent Top 10, which focuses on independent operators that constitute the core of the business, excluding companies whose main activity is the ownership and operation of a fleet of satellites or a terrestrial network. Ordered from largest to smallest, the Top 10 Independents of 2024 They are Speedcast (USA), Arqiva (UK), Telespazio (Italy), Media Broadcast Satellite (Germany), Telstra (Australia), Planetcast Media Services Ltd.
