BitFire designs its platform for cloud production and IP transmission
The launch at NAB 2025 of the platform BitFire aims to pave the way for instant access to end-to-end live production tools.
The platform provides convenient, cost-effective access to professional-grade, software-defined tools that deliver the cloud flexibility and scalability with the reliability and performance of dedicated hardware.
“The BitFire platform removes traditional barriers to live production by offering broadcasters, production teams and content creators a professional, easy-to-deploy, instantly available, fully customizable and easily scalable solution,” he says. Jim Akimchuk, President and CEO of BitFire. “With a comprehensive set of cloud-based tools at their disposal, teams of any size can launch quickly, collaborate in real time, and produce exceptional live content from anywhere.”
Within the platform, production environments BitFire Spark They allow users to design, implement and manage live productions with unprecedented speed and flexibility. From a single interface, production teams can incorporate switching, audio mixing, repeating, talkback and multi-viewing, quickly setting up cloud production tools in an environment tailored to their specific needs. They can select switch size, repeatability, multi-display layouts and more, while maintaining the familiar feel of a traditional control room. BitFire Spark production environments can be spun up in minutes, scaled on demand, and shut down just as easily.
The command center BitFire Inferno offers broadcasters and production companies all the tools they need to create and manage their cloud-based productions and broadcasts. The intuitive web-based dashboard simplifies the routing and management of transmissions, providing live BitFire FlightPath statistics to view real-time status and facilitate cloud resource management, administration and billing.
FireBridge Connect will offer secure, browser-based access to the BitFire platform, making it easier for remote team members to enter the production workflow. Working from anywhere, authorized team members can monitor live video and audio, access control panels and talk stations, or configure webcam contribution.
BitFire Transport, which supports the entire production workflow, delivers broadcast-quality video and audio over IP with ultra-low latency and synchronized delivery from multiple sources. This infrastructure is reinforced by BitFire's Network Operations Center, which provides 24/7 engineering and monitoring support to ensure smooth transmission.
Because it integrates well with existing broadcast hardware and software, it can work alongside other technologies rather than requiring an all-or-nothing switch. Akimchuk highlights that "as the industry continues to embrace hybrid workflows, the BitFire platform offers an ideal solution for organizations looking to expand their live production capabilities without a large investment in infrastructure. We look forward to showing attendees at the NAB Show the new and improved BitFire.
