Avid merges MediaCentral and Wolftech News capabilities into a single solution
The integration of MediaCentral and Wolftech News within the commercially available MediaCentral Cloud UX, a move with which Avid seeks to “redefine collaboration in newsrooms.”
This combined approach allows news teams plan, create, publish and expand stories “faster than ever,” allowing newsrooms to focus on story-telling rather than story management. This milestone comes less than a year after the acquisition of Wolftech by Avid in November 2024.
Integrated Solution from MediaCentral and Wolftech Encompasses Workflows from production to publication, including planning, resource management, equipment booking, production and publishing in a single web interface. The solution stands out for allowing the elimination of duplications and delays thanks to centralized communication and intelligent automation; a cross-platform distribution focused on history; the empowerment of remote teams and in the field using mobile tools, and by having a future-ready architecture that leverages Avid's open platform, integration engine and AI framework.
Arne Berven, CEO de Wolftech y SVP, Broadcast Strategy en Avid, considers that this integration “removes barriers” through its set of AI-powered tools, which “directly respond to the industry's demand for an end-to-end platform.” On the other hand, Kenna Hillburn, senior vice president of product at Avid, said: "Today's launch marks Avid's commitment to delivering a unified solution for newsrooms. We are dedicated to helping our customers deliver high-quality content at the pace of modern news consumption."
