Sapec - Laguna - Sivac-One - IBC 2025

IBC 2025 (September 12-15, Amsterdam) will host an extensive showcase of video contribution and distribution solutions from Sapec, a brand that, among other new features, launches the gateway function for the Laguna models and a SMPTE 2110 model of the Sivac-One.

IBC 2025 will serve as the European debut of the long-awaited feature Lagoon Gateway, which was premiered in NAB 2025. The four models of the UHD/HD/SD multichannel platform, Single (single channel) Dual (two channels), Quad (four channels) and Octal (eight channels), you can now incorporate this optional license which adds to its encoder and decoder functions. Through this tool, the systems will be able to manage a maximum of 8 IP to IP conversions for each engine sendable to eight different destinations, with total freedom to choose between the SMPTE 2022 standard or the SRT and RIST protocols.

On the other hand, the Laguna models receive the world debut of a function to facilitate broadcasters' signal management regardless of their typology: automatic input switching. Thanks to this new tool, available via license, users will be able to choose their preferred destination for video signals regardless of their source protocol. In this way, an SRT signal can be automatically switched, for example, to a RIST output channel.

The Amsterdam event will host the world premiere of the latest addition to the family of Sapec: the version SMPTE ST 2110 of Sivac-One, modular encoding and decoding platform with UHD-HDR capabilities based on ultra-low latency (less than 170 ms glass-to-glass) FPGA. The solution, until now available with its 3G and 12G model in electrical and optical modalities, adds a new option prepared for the IP world. In parallel, the solution will debut at IBC 2025 a new multiplexing. Once the equipment is updated, if it is configured in four HD encoder mode, users will be able to multiplex these channels to use them in different production and broadcast contexts.

Miguel Ángel Cristobal, CEO of Sapec, evaluates the brand's innovations: "Broadcast, as a sector in constant evolution, needs collaborators capable of adapting not only to its new needs, but also to pave the way into new terrain. At Sapec, we continue to develop new solutions while expanding the functionalities of such consolidated solutions as Laguna and Sivac-One."

Gredos, The CornerCam and the Sapec partner ecosystem

The Sapec team will also exhibit the H.264/MPEG-2 encoder family with integrated modulator at IBC 2025 Steps II: the version with Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) modulator with support for ATSC or ISDB-TB, and an alternative with satellite modulator (DVB-S/S2/S2x). With a capacity of up to two video channels (SD/HD), the solution also offers the management of simultaneous audio channels with MPEG-1/AAC/Dolby AC3 and EAC3 compression and, optionally, HEVC, in 4:2:0 or 4:2:2 profiles.

The camera flag system The CornerCam completes the selection of tools from the Spanish company at the RAI in Amsterdam. Attendees will be able to discover this alternative to football corner flags that integrates two cameras (upper and lower) HD 1080i or FHD 1080p with horizontal remote control. The tool, which connects with the mobile units through fiber optics, is managed with a preselection and multi-screen system, again, created by SAPEC itself.

Sapec will be supported at IBC 2025 by a ecosistema the partners chosen to complement their solutions and form a network of tools in the field of video contribution and distribution. Video-MOS, a firm specialized in content quality control via AI based on the subjective quality measurement parameter MOS, returns to IBC after updating its artificial intelligence engine with compatibility with UHD environments as a big novelty. For its part, Acromove will deploy a fully functional private 5G network, an increasingly in-demand alternative in high congestion environments. Sapec will also host the solutions of Unified, manufacturer of 5G broadcast backpacks capable of offering a signal with minimal latency in 4K resolution.
