Ateme relies on Google Cloud AI to generate subtitles

The generative AI capabilities of Google Cloud allow video services Atem automate the generation of multilingual subtitles on a “large scale”, a measure that seeks to reduce costs and production times.

To make this a reality workflow, the application of Ateme file transcoding, Titan File, microservices are fragmented and implemented through Google Kubernetes Engine. Subsequently, the multimedia files stored in Google Cloud Storage are processed through Vertex AI, Google Cloud's unified AI development platform.

This collaboration, explains Ateme herself, represents a “significant step" in the convergence of video and artificial intelligence. He video subtitling, which was traditionally a manual and fragmented process, can now be fully automated, producing professional quality multilingual subtitles in “a matter of minutes”.

This subtitling automation process is the latest manifestation of the alliance between Atem y Google Cloud, which optimizes operational flexibility by allowing transparent integration between both platforms. As explained Jules Mermet-Husson, architect of Ateme cloud solutions: "Google Cloud's generative AI capabilities allow us to automate what was once a complex process. Together, we are creating an agile, open and scalable platform that transforms every technical limitation into an opportunity to create value."

On the other hand, Yohann Guilloux, vice president of global alliances at Ateme, said that this alliance “addresses a key challenge for content creators and distributors, who have often been limited to translating content into a single language, which restricts international distribution and accessibility for audiences who do not speak English or are hearing impaired.”
