Clear-Com Austin PBS

Eclipse HX, FreeSpeak II and V-Series intercom solutions from Clear-Com come to American television Austin PBS, which is currently the “largest 12G facility in the United States,” to support its three studios and offices.

The system Clear-Com gives to Austin PBS a powerful one digital matrix infrastructure with wireless and operator panels to offer stable communication in all departments. The system includes a frame Eclipse central, wide wireless coverage FreeSpeak II with 35 beltpacks and 15 transceivers, and a set of V series panels for fixed operator stations. This integrated approach allows staff to stay connected anywhere on site, helping them manage each production.

The intercom system allows roaming between multiple studios and offices with different programming for each studio and shared line, as well as scalable and layered communications for teams of 3 to 100 people. Clear-Com tools also come with hybrid headphones and bone conduction audio for production and event staff, and Zoom connectivity Integrated for distributed workflows.

Katherine Heard, Director of Engineering and IT at Austin PBS, highlights the flexibility and reliability of Clear-Com solutions, which have already worked for full performance: "With FreeSpeak II beltpacks, an Eclipse core, and the ability to use bone conduction audio, our team can move around studios, offices, and events without losing connection. Even our Zoom communications are integrated directly through Clear-Com panels."
