Cristina Garmendia resigns as president of Mediaset Spain

Linked for more than eight years to Mediaset Spain, and president of the audiovisual group for two years, Cristina Garmendia decides to end her time as president by her own decision.

Garmendia had been part of Mediaset Spain uninterrupted since December 2017; first, as an independent director and as member and president of the audit and compliance committee and the appointments and Remuneration committee of the company, and since May 2024, as president of the audiovisual group led by the CEO Alessandro Salem. Now, he has communicated his decision to close stage in Mediaset Spain to direct their activity towards projects in other areas.

As president, Cristina Garmendia has represented Mediaset Spain in the main social, economic and industrial forums for almost two years, in which the company has consolidated its integration in MFE-MediaForEurope and has faced important challenges such as the restructuring and adaptation of the group to the “challenges that are part of the present and future of the audiovisual sector.” Garmendia will continue collaborating with Mediaset España in innovation matter and maintains representation of the company on the board of the Cotec Foundation.
