AEQ technology stars in the jump to the radio of the iconic Correio da Manhã
The Portuguese media group Medialivre, which manages nine magazines and five newspapers, has reinforced its most iconic masthead with a new radio project equipped with AEQ: Correio da Manhã Radio.
Previously known as Cofina, Medialivre stands as one of the largest media companies in Portugal. Founded in 1995, it has been listed on the Lisbon Stock Exchange since 1998 and, since 2023, the footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has been its main shareholder.
The group currently manages five newspapers, including its national flagship, Morning Mail. It also publishes nine leading magazines, including GQ, Automotive and Vogue, and operates a television channel, Correio da Manhã TV. Recently, this offer has been reinforced with Correio da Manhã Radio, whose technical infrastructure It consists of a selection of tools AEQ.
Inside the studio, the digital mixing console Capitol IP backbones the operations of the Portuguese station. This digital audio mixing console has IP connectivity based on a single module integrated into its core, capable of managing 16 input and 16 output channels. Among its main features, its wide input capacity stands out: 4 microphone/line, 12 analog, 4 digital stereo AES/EBU (AES3), 2 digital stereo USB and up to 2 optional telephone lines. In addition, it allows the incorporation of optional multichannel digital audio links, with 16 AoIP channels through two Ethernet connectors or up to 64 MADI input channels via fiber optics.
Correio da Manhã Radio is also notably committed to visual radio with the system VisualRPlus, a platform that allows you to expand the experience of the traditional radio channel by incorporating video content intended for the audience. The system automatically generates visual content in parallel to the usual radio production, which can be combined for broadcast as an online program or even as a traditional television format, always working with PTZ cameras.
The AEQ solution incorporates a mixer compatible with the NDI protocol, capable of managing up to 8 image inputs to generate the corresponding outputs for streaming. The system supports unlimited transitions, macro programming and on-screen preview, within a complete FX MIXER platform that offers up to 4 channels for Picture in Picture, 6 DSK, overlay graphic layers, as well as recording, playout functions and a multi-format AV-Player with individual playback.
The system, whose infrastructure has been designed on IP technology with multichannel connectivity Dante-AES67, is completed with the audiocodecs AEQ Venus4, the VoIP telephony platform Systel, interconnection boxes HB02 and the matrix Netbox. The entire project has been led by the technical services of Correio da Manhã Rádio in collaboration with Decimagen, AEQ's local partner in the country.
