Media Links - Xscend 1RU 2RU - IBC 2025

To improve visibility and control across multi-vendor networks, the developer of IP media transport solutions, Media Links, has integrated Xscend with the DataMiner xOps platform from Skyline Communications.

The integration allows Monitor and manage Media Links Xscend systems within DataMiner environments, providing operators with visibility and end-to-end management of your transportation infrastructure along with other elements of the network.

As media and telecommunications networks continue to evolve, operators are increasingly adopting layered management architectures that combine vendor-specific element managers with high-level orchestration platforms to manage complex, distributed workflows.

John Dale, Marketing Director at Media Links, says, "Media Links has long been known for offering a complete and robust transport solution, including control and management. At the same time, we are aware that many of our customers operate in multi-vendor environments and rely on platforms like DataMiner for centralized visibility and orchestration. This integration makes it easy to add Xscend to those existing workflows and fits with the way networks are managed today."

By enabling interoperability with DataMiner, Media Links expands Xscend accessibility to a large installed base worldwide. This simplifies deployment and enables more efficient monitoring, control and coordination across various network infrastructures.

"For our users, DataMiner has become the operating system to manage complex operational ecosystems. Platforms are converging, media companies must prepare for the era of generative AI and time to return on investment is more important than ever," he highlights. Thomas Gunkel, broadcast market director at Skyline Communications. "For this transition to be a success, the foundation must be solid from the start. And this is precisely what we are doing by integrating Media Links' Xscend platform into DataMiner, allowing users to manage high-performance IP transport within a unified operating environment today and be prepared for an AI-driven, intelligent and autonomous era."

Digital transformation

Media Links' Xscend platform is a high-performance IP media transport solution designed to transmit video, audio and data over wide area networks with high reliability and low latency. Built for live production, remote workflows, and large-scale contribution environments, Xscend combines high-capacity transport with advanced features such as seamless protection switching. Its flexible architecture, together with ProMD EMS (Media Links' asset management system), allows it to seamlessly integrate into modern IP-based infrastructures, supporting both centralized and distributed operating models.

For its part, DataMiner is the xOps platform created for the Intelligence Age, bridging complex infrastructure and automated intelligence in mission-critical ecosystems, including telecommunications networks, satellite operations, broadcast platforms, utility networks and intelligent infrastructure. It unifies diverse data sources and controls, creating a real-time digital twin for AI-powered monitoring, analysis, automation, and orchestration. The platform includes out-of-the-box solutions that are highly customizable and supported by a dynamic global DevOps community. This combination of visibility, intelligence and scalability accelerates digital transformation and enables organizations to operate as agile, data-driven powerhouses that thrive in a rapidly evolving world.
