Ross Production Services (RPS) coordinates its coverage with Clear-Com intercom
Clear-Com becomes the standard for the entire fleet of mobile units, portable equipment and production control rooms of Ross Production Services (RPS), production services arm Ross Video.
RPS supports a wide range of productions, including sports broadcasting, entertainment, rodeos, eSports, political debates and corporate events. To meet the demands of these diverse environments, the company relies on an ecosystem of Clear-Com fully integrated that spans your headquarters facilities, mobile units, and remote user workflows.
Clear-Com's infrastructure consists of digital matrix racks Eclipse Omega and Delta; user panels IrisX; the mobile application Agent-IC; IP series interfaces LQ, and wireless intercom systems FreeSpeak. Systems are integrated into routing environments Ross Ultrix and configured to support both local and remote productions.
According to Lance Bracale, director of broadcast engineering at Ross Production Services, Clear-Com's flexibility and hybrid workflow capabilities were key factors in the company's decision to standardize its platform: "One of the most important advantages is the ability to implement two-wire communications over the network using the LQ interfaces, while also being able to add four-wire connectivity when necessary. Agent-IC has also proven incredibly valuable for users working from home and as a fail-safe option for remote connectivity."
RPS engineers and audio teams also benefit from the easy-to-use configuration software EHX from Clear-Com. “The simplicity of EHX software has made it easier for engineers and A1 scheduling and controlling intercom workflows. The functionality “Go LIVE” allows you to make changes instantly without having to apply a complete configuration, and the mode Supervisor It gives engineers visibility into what users are listening to and selecting in real time,” adds Bracale.
New possibilities with IP intercom
RPS has recently expanded the use of Clear-Com wireless solutions, moving from standalone FreeSpeak systems to IP-based wireless implementations using cards E-IPA y FreeSpeak Icon. “We are slowly upgrading to IP antennas connected directly to the E-IPA cards along with the new Icon transceivers to save time during configuration and simplify deployment,” explains Bracale.
The company has also leveraged the remote connectivity of Agent-IC panels and clients to support distributed production teams, allowing users working from home to connect directly to production environments as if they were on site: “Agent-IC panels and clients that connect remotely to the E-IPA card have been great for work-from-home workflows, giving users a full connection to the mobile unit as if they were there.”
“Frank Linton y Justin Emge They've done a great job keeping RPS up to date on new releases and updates, while also collecting our feedback on daily use of the products. They are always looking to promote the newest technologies and demonstrate new solutions in the field,” he concludes, adding value to the involvement of Clear-Com itself in a deployment that already translates into transversal operational improvements.
