Huawei has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore possible avenues of cooperation to adopt cloud computing solutions.

Zong Yan, CEO of Huawei Qatar, highlighted that "this agreement offers us a unique opportunity to leverage our offering in the cloud media sphere both regionally and globally. Huawei's cloud media solution supports video production and dissemination, offering Al Jazeera a platform that replaces multiple traditional and independent media management systems with a single universal infrastructure, with processing capabilities thirty times faster than existing transcoding devices."

Huawei's Media Cloud solution employs a converged architecture and media processing resources for computing, storage, migration and management. The solution allows convergence between ingestion, editing, dissemination and management with respect to both traditional and new media.

Mohamed Abuagla, Executive Director of Technology and Network Operations at Al Jazeera Media Network, underlines that "we will explore various avenues with Huawei to see how we can best transform AJMN's online platforms using next-generation cloud media solutions. We hope to have a variety of options to increase the Network's digital footprint and audience. Huawei is a global leader in the development of Cloud Media solutions, and at Al Jazeera Media Network we want to ensure that we can also have state-of-the-art processing resources. computing, storage, migration and media management”.
