Sony adds to its family of professional digital recorders, made up of the PCM-D1 and the PCM-D50, this recorder with integrated speaker, digital pitch control, digital limiter, track marking and a 5-second pre-recording buffer.
Sony has just launched its latest portable digital recorder, the PCM-M10, a small device that fits in the palm of your hand and is ideal for professional applications, not only in the music industry, but in journalistic fields in radio and television where it is essential to achieve good sound quality at a good price. With a convenient pocket-sized design, the PCM-M10 is designed to faithfully capture even the subtlest nuances of any audio pickup. It shares some design and functionality elements with the other two recorders in Sony's professional line of portable audio devices, the PCM-D1 and PCM-D50, including its same concept of elegance and solidity.
The new device performs 96 kHz/24-bit recordings with stereo electret condenser microphones, and includes 4 GB of internal flash memory and a microSD/Memory Stick Micro (M2) slot. Key features include a built-in speaker, memory switching while recording, digital pitch control, digital limiter, low cut filter, track marking functions, a 5-second pre-recording buffer and A-B repeat function. The PCM-M10 ships with Sound Forge Audio Studio sound editing software.
It also includes a high-speed USB port that makes it easy to upload and download native .WAV and .MP3 files between the device and Windows or Macintosh computers. In addition to being made of durable metal for longer life, it offers considerable autonomy with conventional AA alkaline batteries.
