Popular Tv Galicia

This ambitious project was approached in several phases of execution, facilitating in each phase an optimal design and the incorporation of the most advanced technology based on the needs of Popular TV. In an initial phase, Vitelsa has provided the new production center with all the necessary technical equipment for the technical rooms, central control and continuity control. The equipment has included the installation of a synchronized antenna/satellite signal reception platform, which feeds together with internally generated signals (servers, VTRs...) to a central SDI and analog audio control matrix. Said central control has been set up in a high availability technical room, which also has all the electronics for configuration, glue, technical monitoring...

Also within this phase, the continuity system has been implemented, on which a comprehensive workflow has been designed that converges all the material produced from the center for its issuance in the continuity system. In this way and thanks to the engineering study carried out by Vitelsa, all SDI video signals can be converted into direct events in the broadcast system.

Finally, the production center has been provided with all the necessary equipment to implement an MPEG over IP radio link against the signal distribution center, belonging to the Retegal operator and through whose network the signal is disseminated throughout the Galician community.

Popular Tv GaliciaSecond phase

In the second phase of the project, the implementation of the content production center has been completed, where the equipment of the video post-production and audio post-production rooms is undertaken, in addition to the latest generation non-linear editing systems. It is also worth highlighting that the installed call room is designed as a multipurpose audio room, which allows not only voiceovers, but also post-production, dubbing and editing. Regarding the lighting equipment on the sets, this allows creating multiple independent useful spaces within the same physical space.

Also within this phase, Popular TV has implemented a new system for distributed management and archiving of high-capacity and reliable audiovisual content, integrated by Vitelsa on high-performance servers and based on the MediaBox software solution from the Xtream company. This completely scalable management and archiving system has been integrated with news and video post-production systems, working on a high-speed Ethernet network that guarantees the simultaneous operation of a high number of clients at 25 Mb per second.
