On May 12, Seville will host this meeting organized by the Association of Ibero-American Educational and Cultural Televisions (ATEI) and Radio Television of Andalusia (RTVA). Likewise, on the 13th and 14th of the same month the VII General Assembly of ATEI will be held in the Andalusian capital.

Coinciding with the Spanish presidency of the European Union, the Association of Ibero-American Educational and Cultural Televisions (ATEI) and Radio Television of Andalusia (RTVA) have called for the First Euro-Ibero-American Meeting of Educational Televisions on May 12. This meeting will bring together the main television stations, mainly public, and both European and Latin American production companies. So far, Arte (Germany-France), ARD (Germany), ORF (Austria), VRT (Belgium), RTVE (Spain), France Télévision, RAI (Italy), RTP (Portugal), BBC (United Kingdom), Nordivision Consortium (Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Iceland) and RTE (Ireland) have already been invited.

The capital of Seville will also host the celebration of the VII ATEI Assembly on the 13th and 14th of the same month.

Together with ATEI and RTVA, the regional television stations of the Basque Country (EITB), Catalonia (TV3), Principality of Asturias (RPTA) and Extremadura (CEXMA) will participate in the organization of this Ibero-American meeting. Along with them, the Ibero-American companies Canal Encuentro (Argentina), TV Cultura (Brazil), Ser TV (Panama), Colombeia TV (Venezuela) and the Mexican TV UNAM, Canal 22 and DGTVE will also participate.

According to ATEI data, public television in the 20 Latin American countries represents an estimated audience of 550 million people, to which are added the 500 million estimated audience of public television in the 50 European countries.

Among the activities planned within the meeting are a Seminar on Digital Terrestrial Television and a Euro-Ibero-American Co-production Exhibition, among others.

ATEI is the Association of Ibero-American Educational and Cultural Televisions, a non-profit organization, created in 1992 to manage the Ibero-American Educational and Cultural Television (TEIb), Cooperation Program of the Ibero-American Summits of Heads of State and Government, whose mission is to contribute to the development of education, science and culture in Ibero-America, through the use of television and other information and communication technologies.
