Philips presents, with the support of Spanish director Gracia Querejeta, the international contest 'Tell it your way' to complete the series Parallel Lines with a short sixth. This experimental initiative is the result of collaboration with Ridley Scott's production company.

This Wednesday, Philips presented the international competition with the support of the Spanish director Gracia Querejeta Tell it your way which is integrated into the global Parallel Lines campaign. Now available through www.philips.com/cinema, Parallel Lines is the fruit of an experimental film collaboration between Philips and film production company Ridley Scott Associates (RSA), founded by legendary director Sir Ridley Scott.

“Parallel Lines: There are millions of ways to tell a story but there is only one correct way to visualize it” This is the starting point that inspired the series of short films that make up Parallel Lines. A cinematographic collaboration project between Philips and RSA, the production company founded by Ridley Scott in which several RSA directors created five short films, each in a different genre and with a different plot, but all of them based on the same script. Greg Fay (The Secret of Matthew), Johnny Hardstaff (Darkroom), Hi-Sim (Jun & the Hidden Skies), Carl Erik Rinsch (The Gift), y Jake Scott (The Hunt) each developed their own film interpretation of the six lines of the script within genres ranging from drama, action, animation, science fiction and horror.

The five short films in the Parallel Lines series can now be viewed using the 'Ambiplayer' by Philips', a custom-built media player that allows users to watch videos on the Internet as if it were an Ambilight television.

These five films highlight the cinematic capacity of Philips televisions, their exclusive Ambilight technology, their famous image quality, and their unbeatable sound, and interpret through cinema the idea on which the campaign is based: “There are millions of ways to tell a story but there is only one correct way to visualize it.”

Social media are the center of this campaign and the best channel to promote the international competition through the different Universities and Film Schools in Spain. Through the official Parallel Lines website at Facebook Students and other participants can enjoy exclusive content, as well as advice from RSA directors, interviews, behind-the-scenes clips, etc. Likewise, users of Tuenti, the social network aimed at Spanish university students and students, can be up to date with the latest news and content about the campaign.

Participation is open to anyone from anywhere in the world and works must be sent to the official Philips Cinema channel at Youtube.

Among the prizes for participants is an invitation to an RSA film premiere in London or New York which includes travel, accommodation, and a set of Philips Ambilight Cinema 21:9 televisions.
