Abertis Telecom brings together European broadcasters to analyze connected TV

Representatives of eight European broadcasters analyze in Barcelona, ​​at a meeting of the Broadcast Networks Europe (BNE) association with Abertis as host, projects and solutions in an audiovisual ecosystem connected to the Internet.

Representatives from eight European countries have participated in Barcelona in the “Connected TV” meeting of the Broadcast Networks Europe (BNE) association, an entity that brings together broadcasters and operators from all over Europe and works on the development of the Audiovisual technological ecosystem. The meeting has been organized by Abertis Telecom, the telecommunications infrastructure operator of the Abertis group.

The main objective of the meeting has been the exchange of experiences and knowledge to find synergies that contribute to the common development of services and solutions in the connected television environment in the European Union, in a scenario of technological change in audiovisuals.

The participants in the meeting, which took place on May 16 and 17, have shared projects and solutions and have analyzed the business opportunities that the possibility of offering Internet content represents for operators and broadcasters, through “Connected Television”, a technological alternative that combines the efficiency of broadcasting with the new opportunities for interactivity that the Internet offers.

Representatives of the European group Digital Terrestrial Action Group (DigiTAG), which works on the implementation of DTT solutions using the standards developed in the DVB project, attended. The European Broadcasters Union (EBU) and the main European broadcasters were also represented: ORS (Austria), Arqiva (United Kingdom), Swisscom (Switzerland), Digeo (Greece), TdF (France), Elettronica Industriale/Mediaset (Italy), Norkring (Norway), Teracom (Sweden), Enders Analysis (United Kingdom) and the Havas communication group.
