New Matrix Switching and Line EQ from Kramer
Kramer has introduced the new VS-162AVM 16x16 composite video and balanced stereo audio matrix switcher with monitor preamp, and the high-performance line equalizer PT-100.
The switching is carried out during the vertical interval, guaranteeing skip-free switching with referenced sources.
This model has a fully loaded 90MHz (-3dB) bandwidth, video inputs and outputs with BNC and audio with detachable locking terminal connectors. The monitoring output includes a high-quality 3.5-inch LCD display and a headphone output with appropriate volume adjustment to monitor the video and audio of any channel before and after switching.
On the other hand, the Take button executes a queue of multiple switches all in one, while memory storage allows multiple switches as preselected, to be recalled and executed when needed.
Other features include independent audio switching, front panel control, RS-232 (includes Windows-based Kramer K-Router software), RS-485, contact closure and IR remote (included), and vertical interval switching, which synchronizes between external reference or incoming video according to SMPTE RP-168.
PT-100: high-performance line equalizer
Kramer has also introduced the new computer graphics video line equalizer over twisted pair.
The PT-100 compensates for incoming signals at a selector or other device located between the twisted pair transmitters and receivers. The transmission range is over 100 meters over UTP cabling delivering a total range of over 200 meters when placed halfway between the PT transmitter and receiver.
It has the Power Connect system, a single connection to the transmitter or receiver powers the extender when the device is no further than 50 meters away. It's also ultra-compact (PicoTools), with four units that can be rack-mounted side by side in a 1U rack space with the optional RK-4PT rack adapter.
