After more than 20 years of leadership in the premium television sector, and with a clear commitment to the latest technology, Canal+ once again transforms the way we watch television and begins a path that will allow it to stop being conventional pay television and become a digital entertainment brand.

A spectacular show of water, dance and light by the group Fuerzabruta at the Circo Price in Madrid served as a baptism on Thursday afternoon for the grand emergence of Canal+ in a multi-device environment. Since October 17, the premium television offer fully enters an online environment of digital devices such as Canal+ Yomvi. For its part, the Digital+ platform will be renamed Canal+ while the premium channel will operate under the name Canal+1.

Manuel Polanco, Pedro García Guillén and Stephen Dove, president, CEO and director of the Digital Area, respectively, of PRISA Tv, were present at the presentation of the new concept of the platform that from now on will offer its content in a connected world.

After more than 20 years of leadership in the premium television sector, and with a clear commitment to the latest technology, Canal+ once again transforms the way we watch television and begins a path that will allow it to stop being conventional pay television and become a digital entertainment brand.

The first to notice the change will be Canal+ customers, who from now on will be able to enjoy the content to which they are subscribed, at no additional cost, on all devices. Live and exclusive sports broadcasts, new movies, trend-setting series, new original productions, must-see documentaries, programs and specials with the Canal+ seal.

An ally of this strategy is, without a doubt, the iPlus terminal. Looking ahead to 2012, Canal+ is already working on a new generation of decoders thanks to the agreement signed last July with Cisco, a world technological leader. But premium content will now also be available to customers on the PC, iPad and iPhone, on connected televisions or game consoles. To take away, to consume wherever and whenever Canal+ subscribers want thanks to the à la carte service that will allow them to select what they want.

Canal+ online

Canal+ also opens an innovative access door to its offer through the Internet. On the one hand, thanks to the agreement signed by Canal+ and Jazztel, which will put a very competitive product on the market to be able to enjoy Canal+ content through Jazztel's ADSL with a flat rate of 10.95 euros per month.

New subscribers to Jazztel's IPBOX will have access to Canal+ Yomvi, that is, a complete catalog of series and movies that will exceed 1,000 titles, as well as the linear broadcast of Canal+1.

In addition, Canal+ Yomvi will come to the PC in an offer also aimed at non-customers: in this way users will be able to subscribe to Canal+ Yomvi on the computer for only 10.95 euros per month. With a spectacular launch offer: only in October, those who contract the new product will be able to enjoy Canal+ on the Internet, completely free, for a month and without obligation.
