Located in Camden, London, the new MCR is the international hub for all of the agency's global HD video operations, constantly serving images to its partner clients around the world.

ATG Broadcast has completed a major project for The Associated Press as a key element in the organization's global transition to a high-definition environment, the crowning glory of which is the new HD master control room (MCR). Located in Camden, London, the MCR is the international hub for the agency's entire global video operations, constantly serving images to its partner clients around the world.

Peter Watson, AP Technology Manager, Global Video, commented: "The new MCR is part of the modernization of our high definition infrastructure. The control room provides enhanced video monitoring and ergonomic workstations for the operational team. ATG Broadcast was a logical choice for the project due to its successful track record in designing and installing comparable systems in many countries."

Graham Day, Managing Director of ATG Broadcast added: "We have designed a complete multi-seat MCR and broadcast facility that can accommodate five operators plus a supervisor. The MCR is fully equipped to work at 1.5 Gbps, but its core can easily be upgraded to 3 Gbps as or when required. The project includes connecting to the existing architecture and migrating live services to the new area. This has been a challenging and rewarding project for ATG."
