Chris Knowlton will lead product management at Wowza

Knowlton will focus his work on focusing Wowza solutions on the continued creation of technologies that advance media streaming for consumers.

Wowza Media Systems, a provider of media server solutions, has appointed Chris Knowlton to head Product Management as vice president of the companies.

Knowlton is a renowned expert who was most recently a senior technical product manager for Microsoft's media platform. Knowlton will focus his work on focusing Wowza solutions on the continued creation of technologies that advance media streaming for consumers.

At Microsoft, Knowlton spent many years planning and executing the path of the company's media server products, and founded the IIS Media (Internet Information Services) team, best known for creating the IIS Smooth Streaming framework. Knowlton also led efforts to build a broader Microsoft Media Platform ecosystem.
