Just one year after signing as LaSexta's broadcast director, Fernando Jerez leaves the network, in the midst of a merger process, to take charge of the new Discovery Max project. This channel will replace Veo 7's programming starting next January. Discovery has rented the frequency to Unidad Editorial, transferring almost all of its content and advertising.

In this new adventure, Jerez will launch a new channel concept that will include a prime time window that, in principle, will continue to be managed by Unidad Editorial with content produced by El Mundo together with production companies such as Vértice 360.

When Jerez joined LaSexta, its share was 6.3% and eleven months later the figure has been reduced to 5.2%. At LaSexta, Jerez had Alejandro Florez, replacing Sergio Ramos as responsible for acquisitions of foreign production. Jerez has actively collaborated in the relaunch of LaSexta2 and LaSexta3 Todo Cine.

Graduated in Information Sciences from the Faculty of Information Sciences, Fernando Jerez was Director of Antena en Cuatro, since the channel's birth, to which he contributed his professional style in content, creating the network's brand in both entertainment programming and fiction, especially American series, one of the network's hallmarks; At Antena3, he was Director of Programming and External Production, Purchasing and Sales, Self-Promotions and Corporate Image and Broadcasts and Continuity. And, at Telemadrid, he was director of Antena, deputy director of Programming, responsible for New Projects and coordinator in the Press and Communication Directorate.
