Rajoy advocates new management models in public television
The leader of the Popular Party, Mariano Rajoy, has included in his investiture speech that he delivers today before the Cortes the need to establish “new management models in public television” although he has not advanced what they will consist of.
Establishing new business models in public television is one of the objectives that for the new legislature, the candidate for the presidency of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, wanted to highlight in his speech this morning before the Cortes.
Regarding the board of the public corporation RTVE has committed to its renewal within a maximum period of three months.
Rajoy has also announced a cut of 16.5 billion in the deficit to place it at 4.4% of GDP. The candidate for the presidency of the Government announces that in January the first major law in the economic field will be presented.
In terms of education, he has emphasized the need to provide both teachers and students with technological means.
With respect to the different regulatory bodies currently in existence, Rajoy has assured that they will be reduced in number and their powers will be reorganized. A compromise that could include the State Audiovisual Media Council, whose creation could ultimately fall on deaf ears.
The presidential candidate has announced a modification of VAT so that its payment by companies is made when the corresponding invoices have been collected. In addition, it has promised employment tax aid of 3,000 euros for the hiring of the first worker by a new company.
Regarding the export potential of Spanish companies, Rajoy pointed out in his speech that "the company that innovates is the one that exports, and therefore needs policy support." For this reason, it has committed to improving aid to these companies, not with mere subsidies, to promote new markets.
