Maxon reports on Cineversity training web
The Cinema 4D training website now includes improved search with filtering capabilities, custom playlists, and tools for teachers to improve artist learning and productivity.
Maxon Computer, a US subsidiary of the developer of professional 3D modeling, texturing, animation and rendering solutions, has announced the relaunch of Cineversity, the first online trainer and educator of resources for CINEMA 4D users. The redesigned website takes advantage of the latest innovations to provide users with a more intuitive interface, improved search with filtering capabilities for easier access, the ability to create custom playlists, and an interface for teachers to interact with their students.
Digital artists and educators will find tutorials on the Cineversity website to hone their 3D skills, as well as videos showcasing the latest Cinema 4D features.
The Cineversity website was started in 2006 with a hundred tutorials. Since then, the site has grown exponentially to nearly 2,000 video tutorials, resources and teaching materials created by some of the most well-known and accomplished artists in the 3D industry. To ensure the new Cineversity website maximizes the creative potential and productivity of its user base, Maxon conducted a survey asking artists and educators what changes and features they wanted to see on the site. Respondents will be pleased to find most of what they asked for on the new website.
“We are very excited about Cineversity's artist-friendly changes that will not only allow users to perform quick searches and filter results, but also personalize their Cinema 4D training with the creation of playlists,” said Paul Babb, president and CEO of Maxon USA. “We are committed to the Cinema 4D community to provide educational material that increases the potential and productivity of the artist,” he commented.
“The improvements to Cineversity make it even more valuable to Cinema 4D users looking for serious training resources,” adds Dirk Beichert, Marketing Director at Maxon's headquarters in Germany. “We hope that many users will use the video tutorials offered by our US office to improve their skills and produce higher quality works of art,” he commented.
Among the highlights of the new Cineversity website includes the ability to quickly and easily find the necessary tutorials. The improved search and interactive filtering capabilities in Cineversity allow users to search for terms and better refine results, making access to content much more efficient. Search is available in the Tutorials and Lists sections at the same time. Users can create an RSS feed for their custom search results.
Similar to those used in music, Cineversity now allows users to create custom playlists of selected tutorials. Artists and educators can create playlists specific to Cinema 4D tasks or subjects and organize, categorize and manage them to improve learning and productivity. Lists can be made public or shared privately with other users.
The Cineversity staff has put together various topics into lists to help users maximize their CINEMA 4D training. New playlists will be added regularly.
Each user's home page on Cineversity has a new interface that gives you a quick and immediate overview of new tutorials and playlists, as well as a history of the tutorials that have been followed.
Additionally, instructors of a Cinema 4D class can now manage students through their user panel. Teachers can communicate with all or a selection of students, assign playlists, and observe each student's tutorial progress.
The new website offers a direct link to the Maxon “Cineversity En Directo” archives from the last two weeks, as well as a link to the new webcasts available through Podcast.
The new Cineversity now has a Wiki where premium members can contribute and share information relevant to CINEMA 4D users and digital artists in general.
