Magnetrón and Roland have joined forces in Open Days to bring audio and video professionals a wide range of solutions that, complementary, respond to all types of demand... and budget.

After touring Barcelona, Seville, Malaga, Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real), the roadshow organized by Roland y Magnetron arrived today in Madrid. Its last station, at least in the current round, will be Santiago de Compostela on May 30.

Roland has previewed some of the main features of the new V-800 HD mixer, whose first demo units are expected in Spain in mid-June.

The V-800HD Live Video Switcher is ideal for live events or installations that require connecting any type of source, regardless of whether it is digital or analog, video or graphics.

Simply like the design of the popular V-1600HD, the V-800HD is a true multi-format video switcher; which means that it is not necessary to externally modify the input sources to the same resolution that we want in the output. Each input has its own broadcast-quality scaler that can, individually; Scale, narrow, crop and enlarge each source to fit any output resolution.

The V-800HD is also DHCP compatible and also incorporates a multi-viewer output that provides a convenient monitoring solution when connected to any HDMI monitor. The 8 mix channels provide connectivity to the following formats: 3G/HD/SD-SDI, DVI-A/DVI-D/HDMI, RGB, Component, and Composite. Also, as an extra, it incorporates two channels for still images assignable from a USB memory or a captured frame.

A new compositing function (Key) allows you to adjust the phase range, chroma amount, and HSV color parameters. Another compositing feature includes an external Keyer enabling CG titles and gradient clips, allowing the printing of visual effects.

Assigning video cross-points allows you to reorder the buttons for each channel, which is especially useful when there are sudden changes in camera lines or differences in formats creating empty spaces between the bus selection buttons. A dedicated composite video output allows down-conversion to SD that is always ready to archive, for example, to DVD recorders or send to encoders for streaming.

The Multi-Zoom function can be enabled when a video input is shared internally by (up to) 3 other inputs, basically daisy-chaining them. The scaler of each input can now scale and zoom any position of the camera plane, thus creating a virtual multi-camera environment, with a single camera. Some added features are, Down Stream Keyer (DSK), Picture-in-Picture and multiple transitions.

The V-800HD supports an incredible variety of video system designs and creative production options, both for live events and fixed installations. It adapts and handles any challenge in LED display sizes, where flexibility, stability and high quality, easy use and professional connectivity are required. With video resolutions up to 1080/60p, 4:4:4/10-bit processing, and support for 3G SDI input resolutions, any high-quality environment can be achieved. The V-800HD strengthens Roland's range of multi-format video switchers and places it at the pinnacle of quality for live event, corporate and educational productions.

VR-3 y VR5

At these Conferences Roland will also show the new VR-3: a fully integrated audio mixer and video switcher for live production and online streaming. It combines the power of Roland audio and video technology into a single unit and expands Roland's growing line of AV mixers and streaming-ready products.

Like the popular Roland VR-5, the VR-3's all-in-one design greatly simplifies live event production and streaming.

The VR-3's innovative design incorporates a video switcher, audio mixer, preview monitors and a streaming-ready USB output, all in a single unit.

As a USB video/audio type device, online streaming is done simply by connecting it to a computer that has a live streaming service such as USTREAM, Livestream, Stickam, Justin.tv, worshipstream.com, websharelive.com, etc. Savings on hardware equipment, setup time and connection complexity make it a simple and easy solution for any event.

On the other hand, highlight the presence of the V-1600HD multi-format live video mixer, the P-10 content launcher, the R-26 recorder and a wide variety of transport systems and rack recorders.

The latest from Sennheiser, Neumann and Rycote

Magnetrón has shown at these Open Days the latest from its representatives Sennheiser, Neumann and Rycote.

On Sennheiser's part, it is worth highlighting the XS radio frequency wireless microphone system, a range that is halfway between its entry-level proposal, FreePort, and its flagship, Evolution.

In conference and installation systems, Sennheiser's ADN solution stands out, offering a fully integrated approach to equipment with software control and an iPad/iPhone application.

Magnetrón also exhibits, on behalf of Neumann, the KK 204 and 205 capsules for 2000 series transmitters and the new near-field monitors with two channels and a multitude of options from the box itself. We can also see the modular series of miniature microphones for the KMA and KMD modules that allow the same capsules to be used with analog or digital outputs.

As for Rycote audio accessories, Magnetrón shows the Universal Studio Kit (with universal suspension for large diaphragm microphones and pop filter...) and the RUCK kit for universal camera and ENG work that includes windshield, suspension and camera connector, among other accessories.
