Loudness-compliance monitoring and the ability to easily monitor 16 tracks of embedded Audio, among the critical features why numerous broadcasters have opted for these systems.

TSL Professional Products has announced that more than 130 PAM2 multichannel monitoring systems will be used for loudness compliance and monitoring of up to 16 channels of embedded audio by numerous international broadcasters during the London Olympic Games.

The PAM2 solution offers an intuitive and easy-to-use interface, making direct implementation for temporary installations created for the event and its engineers, who do not have the luxury of spending time on complicated training.

Chris Exelby, CEO of TSL Professional Products, is very pleased "to have installations for the BBC, NEP, China's CCTV and Brazil's Globosat, as well as inclusion in Bexel flypacks, created specifically for gaming. The PAM2 units will provide a high degree of security for broadcasters interested in loudness compliance, and the review and monitoring of many possible audio feeds for audio production."

Instalaciones

  • NEP Visions, a division of UK-based NEP Broadcasting, an international production company providing outsourced video production services for the world's biggest events, will be using PAM2 units as part of its remote coverage for a major US broadcaster. NEP Visions has over 25 years of experience covering the world's biggest events, ranging from hosting the Royal Wedding in 2011, to providing HD flypacks in Kazakhstan. The PAM2 units are installed on 3G's NEP fleet of OB trucks.
  • CCTV, the dominant state broadcaster in mainland China, which operates a 22-channel network serving more than a billion viewers, will install eight PAM2 units, with the new Dolby CAT1100 card at its broadcast center in London. The new Dolby card will enable CCTV to do Dolby E decoding and external speaker monitoring, as well as Dolby Digital Plus with descriptive surround audio and stream mixing.
  • Bexel, a leading global provider of broadcast services, including audio and video equipment rental, fiber services, new audio sales, used equipment sales and repair/maintenance, is providing TSL PAM1 and PAM2 units as part of flypacks for US and international broadcasters, with a design suitable for coverage of the Olympic Games.
  • Globosat, Brazil's largest cable and satellite television service, consisting of 29 stations, is the largest pay TV provider in Brazil, reaching 16.5 million viewers. Globosat also runs an international network, TV Globo Portugal. The company has specified PAM2 units for its temporary broadcast facilities in London.
