Sky tests 4K capture at Emirates Stadium
The British platform considers that, beyond working at 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, the challenge now lies in producing at higher frame rates.
The English payment platform is carrying out a series of tests to test the possibilities that a 4K resolution would offer both in capture and diffusion.
In capture, Sky recently tested the different capture possibilities that Ultra High Definition would offer at the Emirates Stadium during the Champions League match between Arsenal and Olympiakos.
For this pilot project, Sky used special cameras Canon y Sony.
Darren Long, director of operations at Sky, assured that the images in these tests are “truly surprising.” He assured that beyond working at 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, the challenge is now producing at higher frame rates.
Long has been convinced that it is still too early to say whether 4K will be part of the company's future plans, although he acknowledged that he is eager to learn more about the technology before the next generation of televisions hits the market.
These Ultra High Definition experiences add to those carried out by BBC and NHK on the occasion of the London Games where 8K resolutions were reached. transmissions.
