Plural Entertainment and 360 Powwow sign an agreement to develop and co-produce new formats
Within the framework of this alliance, Plural will lead commercial and production efforts in Spain, Portugal and the rest of Europe while Powwow will do the same in the United States and Latin America.
The PRISA Group production company, Plural Entertainment, with offices in Madrid, Lisbon and Miami, and Powwow, with headquarters in Miami, Los Angeles and Buenos Aires, have sealed a strategic alliance for the development and co-production of new formats.
Both companies will also collaborate to achieve better international exploitation of Plural's existing catalogue. Within the framework of this alliance, Plural will lead commercial and production efforts in Spain, Portugal and the rest of Europe while Powwow will do the same in the United States and Latin America.
Nathalie García, general director of Plural Entertainment Spain, commented that "the alliance with Powwow is a great step in our development strategy on the American continent. Their positioning and strategy for the audiovisual market in Latin America and the United States is a valuable asset for the exploitation of Plural's formats. We are very excited about already working on both new joint developments and adaptations of our own formats."
For his part, Daniel Gutman, CEO of Powwow, added that "it is a privilege that a company like Plural places its trust in Powwow for the creation of new business opportunities and creative adventures, both in entertainment and fiction formats. We have great expectations in the developments that we will make together, both in terms of new 360º formats and the promotion of talents that can cross borders and expand markets."
Both companies will present their first joint developments during the next NATPE in Miami.
Born within the Prisa Group in 2001, Plural Entertainment is currently one of the most important audiovisual production companies in the Spanish and Portuguese market. Plural produces programs of all audiovisual genres: entertainment, fiction, documentaries... Its projects are distinguished by the originality of the scripts, the modern treatment of the image and careful production. Plural is currently producing the fifth season of Big Brother, Cuatro's most successful coach, won an international Emmy and has been nominated for another for her soap operas My love y Holy Remedy and won the Ondas Award for his TV movie 11-M. Plural counts among its clients the main Spanish and Portuguese television networks.
For its part, the Powwow Executive Team has produced more than 3,000 hours of television for numerous renowned international networks such as NatGeo, Discovery, Fox, Telemundo, and TVE. Some of the most recent projects that Powwow has developed are: Dance!, an 80-episode youth musical series co-produced with Rosenbush/Borden (the executive producers of High School Musical); The Leader of the Pack, a reality show with dog trainer and global TV personality César Millán for Cuatro (Spain) and The Leader of the Pack for NatGeo; and a talk show for Channel 10 in Uruguay hosted by Alessandra Rampolla, the most famous sexologist in Latin America.
